What to Bring to Rehab

Here is a general list of things you should bring with you to treatment, as you begin your journey to recovery:

  • A positive attitude
  • Your driver’s license or ID card
  • Your insurance card
  • Comfortable shoes (athletic/outdoor shoes)
  • A pair of flip flops
  • Up to two weeks of clothing — remember that the weather in Orange County is sunny and warm year-round
  • (i.e. t-shirts, shorts, comfortable pants/jeans, light sweater or jacket as it can get a little chilly at night, sleepwear)
  • A beach towel
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Swimsuit/trunks
  • Gym wear (or comfortable clothes you can move around in)
  • Basic toiletries such as a toothbrush, deodorant, shaving kit, makeup, etc.
  • Hair dryer (if needed)
  • A Vape or cigarettes (if you smoke) – please note: vape tank must be empty upon arrival and vape juice brought must be new & unopened

Here is a list of items that are not allowed:

  • Alcohol, drugs or any other kind of drug paraphernalia (this includes foil, syringes, straws, etc.)
  • Any kind of product containing alcohol, including, but not limited to:
    • Perfumes/colognes
    • Hairspray
    • Mouthwashes
    • Nail polish and nail polish remover
  • Scissors (including cosmetic scissors or tweezers, as well as nail cutters)
  • Keys (unless necessary, staff will keep them safe for you)
  • Hair dye products
  • Lighters (staff will provide a lighter, if you smoke)
  • Pocket knives (or any other type of item that could be used as a weapon – this will be at the discretion staff)
  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Bandanas / lanyards / loose shoelaces
  • Unlabeled or unmarked medications of any kind
  • OTC (over-the-counter) medications, staff does have OTC medications on hand

Please be advised, any and all items brought with you will be searched and any items listed above or other items that staff determine to be unsafe or inappropriate will be confiscated and held until you discharge (unless you bring an illegal substance, as these will be confiscated and destroyed).
